Multi-Outlet 'Wired' Distribution Systems

CATV, or Community Antenna Television, is also known today as simply Cable Television.  SMATV, or Satellite Master Antenna Television, is the term applied to a Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) that subscribes to and receives television by satellite and distributes the channels exclusively throughout the MDU, such as Hotel, Motel, Apartment, or Condominium.

Power Antenna specializes in the engineering and design of multiple channel systems in MDU's.  Broadcast receive antenna installation, satellite antenna installation, coaxial cable distribution, proper head-end assembly and installation are the component parts that, when done properly, lead to a clean and stable TV system.  Signal-to-Noise ratios of 46dB or better.

Today many cable systems and MDU's distribute 100 channels or more.  With so many carriers, adjacent channel isolation and band filtering become vital.  Power Antenna custom builds rack mount passive combiners for CATV head end combining prior to input into the distribution launch amplifier.  These combiners are currently being used by many cable operators across Western Canada, as well as countless MDU operators.

The combiners are filtered and are 'band specific'. This produces higher than normal isolation between bands, resulting in the elimination of higher and lower channel harmonics beating within a band, thereby reducing the production of inter-modulation products.   Click the image for additional specifications.
